Location of Property:
2 miles East of Hay Spring, Nebraska and then 1.2 miles South on graveled county road. There is talk that the road will be paved.

Walgren Lake Recreation Area is 2 miles South of the Bacon Property.
House:
The bi-level home, built in the 1980s, was completely remodeled in 2003. Windows replaced with new Pella and Marvin wood type windows. At time of remodeling, new hardwood floors and new hardwood cabinets were installed. The home has central air conditioning, plus two ceiling fans. The house is heated by a high efficiency propane furnace, replaced in the year 2002. The exterior walls were replaced with new fiber board constructed siding in 2002. The roof is asphalt type shingles. In 2003 a new septic system and leach field was installed. The home has forced air heat upstairs and downstairs plus radiant heat is available in some of the downstairs area. The house has an approximate R-50 insulation rating. Shelter Belt:
Dr. Bacon planted 4,000 trees on the West side of the property line at his own expense. The trees are planted in 7-7.5 rows along the fence line. Most of the trees are Red Cedar. The trees immediately West of the house are on a drip system.
Property Taxes:
Property taxes for the year 2003 were $2,393.78.
Other facts concerning the property:
- There are numerous other old farm buildings on the property that are not described.
- There is a large, older shelter belt running the entire length of the North side of the property.
- There is a gravel country road on the North side of the property and also on the West side. There is some conversation that the road running from South from U.S. Highway to a Walgren Lake will be paved in the future.
- There is a garden SE of the house that can be irrigated.
- A three-acre plot known as "Pheasants for Ever" is located South of the Morton Building. The plot is for Pheasant feed. Pheastant run wild on the property.
